Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Brutal

When will the brutality end 😢

I don’t mind RTO but to force managers 40 miles one way and keep the others who were supposed to move 200plus miles put, it doesn’t seem fair.

I thought we were going to head back to our original locations but our leadership decided against it. Very very sad

You're forgetting about Paramus when you talk about the NJ offices. A lot of those folks have already been told to go to Middletown.

Cool, so Bedminster's actually closer for a lot of them?

@OP hang in there - When it is so abundantly clear that overwhelmingly so many are fed up with this RTO cr-p of 5 days, tracking nickel and dime minutes in and out of office, parking and musical chairs mess with no assigned seating..things have to change at some point..and sooner the better for the company..

Let me guess. You were in the tower in Ft Worth but now you have to commute to Dallas.

"So has the Middletown to Bedminster thing been made official, or are people still balking over a rumor?"

Some have officially been told that they are changing locations, if that is what you are asking.

AT&T’s RTO and HWWW strategy has nothing to do with collaboration or productivity.

It is, by design, to be:

  1. Demoralizing
  2. Chaotic
  3. Unfair
  4. Tyrannical

The only desired output is domestic headcount reduction and offloading of real-estate assets. The sooner you realize and accept that, the less miserable you’ll be.

You won’t be employed at T when the that happens.

This place a joke of a company that’s circling the drain. A party will be held when stinky steps down. I’ve never seen a more universally hated CEO anywhere ever.

“I’d gladly do 40 miles I do 94 miles one way daily!”

So do you agree with the OP or not?

I think they’re saying they were told they had to report to a new office that’s 40 miles away. Sounds like Middletown to Bedminster and the people who were told they had to report to another state are now being told they can stay in their original location?

Truth and further proof that life isn’t fair. It makes perfect “sense” when one realizes the C suiters will do anything to cull the herd…all to line their pocket$.

Theoretically there is a head count number they will hit and back down. Realistically, they will never stop wanting to save the expense of paying high salaries and benefits to older Americans. In other words, it may never stop until we are all off payroll and operations are handled offshore or by H1Bs.
