Not sure how public this is within the bank, but RV wants AI employees. Being pushed as "Digital Employees". Engineering is working on building this. One of the key asks was to be able to ask the AI bots what the lunch menu was in whatever office RV going to be in. You cannot make this up.

Yes, burying your head in the sand about predictable layoffs due to publicly announced plans to invest heavily in AI and digital employees will definitely save your job. This new fad will never impact me! My atrophying skills are irreplaceable! My complicated job of typing stuff into a machine will never be done by someone cheaper in another country, let alone by another machine!

And let us not forget such can’t miss prospects like EDW and cloud based warehousing … and the whole digital ‘assettes’ fiasco. As long as there is SWIFT, deriving accounting from SWIFT, overdue income and all in all, no 100% straight through transactions, there can never be AI to enhance and safeguard it. We’d be better off firing our whole technology division and hiring Wile E. Coyote’s ACME corps to run things. What a laughingstock joke this is becoming!

As long ad there is global custody, treasury, foreign income, FX and foreign deposits, BNY will never self automate or be a robotic style firm. Put it this way, for all the clients and SLAs they have for inbounding instructions to us in prior agreed shapes, forms and content , it needs lots of human beings. It will not end. We saw all the corporate goals, edicts, Pods for immediate addressing of Faxes for example to eliminate them by 2021. Yet here we are. All the nonsense about redoing GSP as web based portal ,,getting rid of FIS,,,,getting rid of IAS…getting off the mainframe,,, having one accounting platform with eagle only. And so much more. This is yet another lame brain call to lunacy arms. It would not surprise me one bit. Don’t care anymore. I am just here for the check. I do not believe in snake oil medicine show one bit.
Digital Engineers are currently working on patching vulnerabilities. The work is something no human wants to do, and all code changes are reviewed by their human manager. Think of this as advanced automation. It is public internally and externally. AI is only going to take the jobs of people who don’t know how to use it.
I wonder if they’ll make the digital employees hotel into workstations

I hear each digital employee will get a minimum $250,000 salary with 30% bonus (in bitcoin of course), stock options, a company car and access to the corporate jet! Also they will all be based at home since none of them wanted to work in a growth center (especially Lake Mary).
