Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Letter of education..?..

Has anyone ever gotten a "letter of education" regarding performance and felt the facts were inaccurate? If so, what did you do? I'm considering gathering all the facts and screenshots and reporting in the employer relations system, but I feel like it may make things worse... should I just leave it alone and continue applying to outside roles to get out?

This bank outsources HR. Their “investigations” are literal witch hunts based on popularity contests. I think we’ve all been victimized by HR and our two-faced colleagues willing to trample on everyone to be a pet. F this place anymore.

Been there, done that. Took it up with Employee Relations. They "investigated" and spoke to my manager. She gave a lame excuse that anyone with a brain could see did not make sense. They still took her side. Unless the manager does something against the bank's ethics policy, etc. it seems they will take their side. I'd look to leave. I left.

Document. Document. Document. Keep careful notes and records (with dates/times) of every interaction, behavior, comment, etc. Expecially any potentially incriminating emails from your manager or whomever.

I have one colleague who was sent 2 LOEs in two consecutive quarters. She did not respond in writing, but began documenting what she saw going on around her by the manager -- and got up to 8 single-space pages.

Nothing ever came of it, but gave her a way to feel like she was doing something. She eventually found a role with a different team and the manager man left for WF.

Gather all your information. Keep a personal copy. You’ll need to decide whether it’s worth your effort to contest. Know that if you haven’t met all requirements by year end you’ll likely land on a DNM for annual reviews.

@ak They didn’t force them on all of us. Some of us just said no.

Sometimes LOE's are simply documentation required by regulators to show that banks are enforcing Rules of Conduct.

They sent it. They have a copy of what they sent to show the regulator, if ever asked.

Case closed.

Now, if you repeat the same behavior again.... then, you have to have an uncomfortable conversation.

that's about it. no biggie.

Ignore it until they badger you. Then call them unprofessional and calmly, patiently, and with compose make them into the bad guys. That’s what all politicians do and it works. You’ll probably get a promotion.

Somebody should give them a letter of education about how much those COVID vaccines have been ki-ling and injuring people. Because last time I checked they forced them on us.

My point is, they are the bad guys.
