Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

If upper management can't manage things without furloughs, maybe they shouldn't be in management!

The only thing the furloughs are going to do is lower morale company wide. If upper management doesn't have a plan throughout the year to manage costs, etc., perhaps they shouldn't be in management. It's ridiculous that this happened at all, but right before the holidays is pathetic. But thankfully the higher ups will be able to travel and get their 2nd or third homes while the people that really make the company function struggle to figure out how to pay their mortgage/rent next month. If anyone from HW is reading this....DO BETTER!

It’s built into the budget every year. It up the economy to let us know in Q2 to pull the trigger. We always error on the “we need the stock up” side. SPS director here.

I don’t know if any other company who uses furloughs as dishonestly as Honeywell does. It’s truly immoral.

Either that, or those running the company are incompetent.

Have you not heard of a side hustle?

I started selling pencils on a busy street corner: Sometimes I tussle with another screaming homeless dude to keep my turf, but it’s worth it to keep my spot. Sold the McMansion weeks ago, and belongings in an estate sale. Amazed at free internet available and cleanliness of public toilets. I wear 3 sets of the same clothes but my next project is a free coat from the shelter program. Here’s a tip, for the coat grab a pair of nasty shoes to get a spot in front of the line and sort of twitch allot. Yeah I am waiting on the next RIF, then it’s greyhound ticket to a warmer climate. Wife and kids left week’s ago saying something about I am always at work and answering emails and long conference calls. No clue that my gig is on the line but hey, I can say I work at HON.

They did this to boost quarterly numbers long before Covid. They don't care about morale, they simply don't want to have to pay you.

This isn’t because Honeywell isn’t doing well that’s all bullsh-t. This is simple ..they’re seeing what they can get away with the furloughed worked during Covid we complied. Now some genius is going well we can make the quarters look better if we use furloughs as a tool. It’s false inflation of profits. Guaranteed come Q1 you’ll get an email profits we’re up! If you’re young enough and not about to retire get out why you have the chance.

Similar to the travel ban we have nowadays in hbt. Lost already 2 massive opportunities as I was not allowed to travel. However, our leadership team is traveling everywhere and showing up with 3 persons in unnecessary meetings.
