Rumor this week that the firm is exploring early retirements/buy-outs/etc. This is new and not the normal layoffs they historically do a few times per year.
Anyone knowledgeable on what they will entail?

I gave up waiting for something like this. A year later I am content with quitting.
A co-worker was laid off on Monday November 7th. I hope I get laid off.
So 5,000 layoffs?
10% layoffs in January.
It’s happening.
I doubt it, I heard something on this site similar for 55+ employees. I think it’s just a rumor.
You can always sell your time for money but you cannot ever buy it back. I would really enjoy a layoff.
I suspect we are already doing this by offering layoff packages to some long term Managing Director level folks. Many of the folks I have worked with have called to tell me they would be “retiring” in a few weeks. Have also been asked to “keep it between us”. I suspect they volunteered for a layoff. Now if we are offering better incentives to retire, people will leave in droves. And maybe that is what we are looking for?
Taking a year off with unemployment is not a bad deal
Please Please Please But i dont think its true
