Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Take a break from work - 2 months without pay

Is that possible in Wellsfargo to take a break from work ( Leave of absence) with no medical situation? Just mental stress. I want to plan few things on my future. I know they can layoff in my leave of absence and i do not care. Who needs to approve this absence?

@a6 if you live in California, you can get disability from the state on FMLA even if it’s been denied by Lincoln financial

Just be sure to have your PDF filled out by a licensed therapist with a PHD and sent to the state of California within 45 days of applying for FMLA. I got to take 3 months off and got paid 16,000 by the state of CA to do it

California is one of only 4 states that collects disability for its workers - so that money I collected was money I had already been taxed over the last 30 years

If you're laid off while out on personal leave, you're not eligible for severance.

You can try to get a non-paid personal leave, but that has to be approved by your manager, which they may not approve if they feel they would be short-handed without you. However, if you want a situation in which your manager doesn't have a say, then you could go the mental health route with your doctor, therapist, or psychiatrist and while they can fill out the paperwork for you to take FMLA, it's not a guarantee it will be approved for short-term disability (paid), but at least you could take FMLA unpaid.

Just take it as FMLA- mental stress is a legit reason and your doctor will likely sign off on it. It'd be hard to get any kind of short term disability pay or anything like that, but if you're not concerned about pay, FMLA is the route here.
