Lincoln Financial Group

Who else on here has had issues with this “benefit” provider for short term disability?

My first experience with them in 2023 for leave was seamless and super easy but this time around is completely different, I had to contact hr because they zeroed out my pto immediately and actually put me in the negative even though workday shows I have the accrued pto so I currently can't even submit pto for the first 5 days. Hr said there is no end date in the system for my leave and that's why but Lincoln won't fix it so not sure what's going to happen. I will have 60 hrs accrued June 1 plus a personal holiday so my manager said to try submitting pto again then with more accrued. I had also asked my case for Lincoln exactly what docs are needed from my surgeon and she said none so I really don't think she knows what she's doing.

"I was out for 2 months on STD. No issues, process was easy and no issues with Lincoln."

You got approved because you had an STD?

The fact you used ‘no issues’ twice in the same short sentence seems……..

The individuals at Lincoln seem fine to me, but their processes are designed to be difficult so that claims can be denied.

I had to leave suddenly to care for my 97 year old mother with advanced dementia for 3 weeks, when a perfect storm of circumstances resulted in her caretakers being unavailable and no back ups were available to substitute.

Lincoln denied my claim for FMLA because my mother was not prescribed any medications and did not go to the hospital or rehab or have any acute illness. This despite all her doctors documenting that my caretaking 'round the clock was necessary to, oh you know, keep her alive.

Yeah, they are intentionally make process more difficult. They are typical insurance company - they do not want to pay claims - they will deny and delay, will keep asking for documents.

@a2+1jwe561q8 here.

@a3+1jwe561q8 “…you’re AN…”. Get your own house in order before you let the stoopid out of your mouth.

So now I see the “issue.” It’s that employees requested assistance with ridiculously poor application packages and documentation, were denied, now are here crying about being denied. Got it. Well now you should be experts having run the gamut, failed, just do it again.

No, nevermind. Just a bunch of dolts who probably don’t have the $100 to spare to ask their docs to fill out the paperwork required since they chose the lowest coverage benefits package. Better off applying for Medicaid based on your mental re7ardartion

I had no issues with them the one time I had to file for short-term. All I had to do was follow their process.

Yeah they are absolutely the worst. In my experience, they're clearly worn down, soulless people who have no interest in helping others. I've had peers tell me they're coldly refused even though they have documentation from their doctor. They had to escalate the issue and talk to a supervisor there to get anything done.

My Short-term leave claim was denied with Dr's documentation etc. They were atrocious and felt like they were completely against me and the Dr's., as if their goal was not to accommodate. Terrible people, terrible experience.

You’re going to need to define “issues”. Do you go by Shaniqua but your legal name is Laqwanda and they won’t call you Shenaynay, that sounds like a you problem.

I have used Lincoln 3 times for two different Short Term Benefits. No problems that couldn’t be resolved after understanding the overall process. Navigating HR type processes, even though they are the “experts”, is always difficult but can always be resolved with a phone call.
