Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

ISG CS layoffs

The leadership obviously decides to cut everything that can be cut, at the cost of making a huge and irreparable mistake. How massive will these layoffs be?

There were layoffs effect Nov 18th across all 5 Americas Field Services divisions. You sound like some legacy Dell troll under bridge!

ISG/Americas Dell ProSupport teams have been hiring Costa Ricans after a decade of “US Only” support. Seems like an obvious way to reduce the cost of the remote CS BU. No real layoffs in that BU yet but I would expect less US hiring going forward.

As for Unisys replacing all remote support? That’s a pipe dream. They have such severe labor shortages they’ve been struggling to meet Dell SLAs for what they’re already contracted to do.

Layoffs are coming; management has been showing in house job openings on the very day of the announcement.

Drunken sailor management have blown their annual forecasts based on the free money from the covid "plague" Every sales group at the VP level over-estimated based on the inflated historical data and the idiocy of macho managers, "Yeah, I'll see that and beat it." Every sales group expansion comes with mistaken sales forecasts which drives over-hiring in the support and delivery functions: CS, Tech Support, accounting, HR, etc. Expect a good 10 to 20% force reduction as the costs of borrowing drive up into the 8s to low teens. Broken and schizoid sales cultures that have not been resolved. Driven by the senior leadership forcing customer adoption of unwanted partners. The boys and the girls at the top are counting their options and hoping to ride out the downturn on the bloodied shoulders of the employees until they can cash out.

"Also on the not too far horizons will be the PM functions for the chop"

So expanding beyond ISG Support (K.W.) to ISG GPS (C.Q.)?

I heard all ISG CS, basically the legacy EMC CS peeps will be gone by Feb 23. All subsequent ISG CS work to be done by partners, most likely UNISYS. Also on the not too far horizons will be the PM functions for the chop.

FYI I'm a director in EMEA and this was discussed on management all hands call last week.

Was it field or remote CS? Which business unit?

Channel will run the show including ISR's jobs may vanish along with Field Sales.

I predict that by the beginning of Dell's next FY they will no longer have a field organization. It will be sold off and with all field work being contracted out to the buyer.
