Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Early bargaining

Not hearing anything more than some rumblings of pessimism!!That it would seem they may not come to any agreement yet no one willing to talk too much about the issues other then the company is looking at things dealing with call centers and It would seem more more in dealing with the 10 hour work day and such .Just real curious what the actual issues debated are ?? I gotta assume medical and pay are not real hard issue but I’m thinking that outsourcing maybe a subject

I would if the union provided one. Not all members are heard or matter.

Unioners go to union handout page. This is a layoff page.

My guess is, no matter how bad the agreement for the union members, by end of the week you will hear all's good.

My guess is if it’s a unanimous agreement by end of the week you will hear alls good if not then you probably just won’t hear anything till next year when the end of contract nears .Who really knows anything

CWA has better leak-proof workings than any administration in the WH. They don't even tell union stewards what's up, so absolutely everything is speculation, until it's official. And of course, the company never says anything either, until it's already long over. We probably don't hear anything else in 2025 since the contract still has 14 months left.

its the same cr-p ,oh whats going on,whats the issues ,then union says we are working very hard for you guys for the best.then at the end they say oh nothing changed ,then you read the contract 4 years later and find out you got sc--wed. that what the CWA does in the past 15 years

Ya as a serious note not really sure why everything has to be a big giant secret. There would be nothing wrong with the unions discussing a little bit of at least what the main issues are and any progress to keep the rumors at bay.But as usual it’s like being kept in the dark .Not saying all should be spilled but the complete lack of information and curtains being held up really don’t do any good in the end

To add to what the previous person said. People are talking everywhere!!

The fact that you don’t know what the issues being debated are , shows how disconnected the union leaders are with the members . Not telling them anything . And you are still under contract for another year , so ya got time before things heat up.
