Thread regarding Ford layoffs

There is a very clear pattern

Been with for 7 years and witnessed a clear pattern - if you're pension eligible and have approx 20 years in, doesn't matter how great your performance is, you will be separated, terminated, SIRP'd, call it whatever you want. Look at everyone from the recent layoffs " open to work " on linkedin - IMO 90 percent of these good people performed well and were loyal to this poorly managed and dysfunctional company. Performance has nothing to do with success and maintaining a position with Ford. Great example, the epic fail of Argo and the so-called AV Llc. All the tech people who delivered were separated while all the business and service teams that failed remain. Nepotism is the norm(...)
________
You nailed it, @plx+1jwUGliU. At Ford, some things have become very predictable.

There certainly is a pattern. Most people close their eyes until they are a casualty themselves.

When my DH got cut in 2019 some of his coworkers told him the company was doing the right thing by cutting the expensive technical specialists, after all they claimed they could do the work if they were paid more. When those same coworkers (entire team) were cut in 2022 and replaced with a cheaper team in India said it was unfair that they were cut.

In hindsight Ford did all the great tech specs that they SRD in 2019 a favor. They all got better jobs quickly. Now that Ford is telling the world that they are only cutting low performers those that are culled will have a stench placed on them, making it difficult to find new employment. Not exactly what one would call classy behavior.

Yes, working at Ford you roll the dice if you are under the pension plan. All signs point to them freezing it sometime after 12/1. What the company lacks is plan simple "LEADERSHIP"!!! What are the plans for NA Salaried employees? The recent news article points out hundreds of millions investment in PD of Mexico and 9k hiring should have been rolled out company wide. JF & BF have lost the trust of the employees. Everything JF says I take with a grain of salt. If I sat next to a window and he walks in to tell me, it is daylight i would still have to walk outside and check for myself.
BF I still cannot believe the investors, or the Press do not ask for him to step down after that "TRAIN STATION DEBACLE". Glad I do not have them investors managing my money. They would be fired.
So, I am watching that $5.5bn investment in those three plants. curious to see how the execute that plan? I left in 2018. Sad to see how far the company spiraled and lost focus.
BF,JF, what can they actually (realistically) hang their hats on for credit or accomplishments?
df? I read his bio man sure hopped around quite a bit. makes you wonder why? If he was as good as they say he is, then why did those high paying companies who could easily out bid ford let him go?
Hopefully all the 55+ pensioners will leave this month get out of there ASAP. Don't be fooled by those retention bonuses in Ford Stock. Might as well give you toilet paper.

Nobody doubts the company needed an overhaul. But FORD has a long history of not executing on these types of ventures. For those who are left in NA maybe 12-24 months before your job goes south of the border. Nice AMMO for TRUMP in 2024;)

I was pension eligible. Hired into Ford in 2000. I left in 2005 because I knew that somehow Ford would find a way to f*** me out of that pension. That’s exactly what happened to all of my friends who were loyal and stuck around for the long haul.

This is very true and terrifying. Almost everyone I know with the stats posted have been eliminated through various ' involuntary seperation ' packages. Those left know they're targets for next round. What is disgraceful and leaves me angry are those that have been brought in to replace talent that have been eliminated. Seems the norm is not only nepotism but throwing people under the so called bus. Farley, Lawler, whoever - if you're serious about cleaning house, take a good look at the id--ts brought in from HP and hold them accountable for the epic fails in AV and Ford Drive. Bring on the next layoffs!
