Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Who will WF buy now!

Now that the Cap is off, WF will probably go after a Credit Card company or a brokerage company. Or maybe join forces with Citi to better compete with BOA and Chase!

GS. There were rumors they were going to merge back in 2017 before asset cap. I think this would benefit both companies in a short and long run. If Charlie is able to get this done then he will definitely be one of the greatest bank CEOs of all time!

The answer to this question means you have to have a clear view of what we have sold since Charlie has taken over the bank. He sold all kinds of non-core businesses and portfolios from the bank.

We will not target buying things in the vein of what we already sold...that was done to reshape the bank into primary core businesses. Whatever we have is what we will build. Look there....

Saint Louis has the ugliest people. Just saying. We cannot build a strong hub around that crime anymore. Time to exit. I dont care if that broken down spiral door jail cell with food truck offerings has 4000 people or not. We ain’t building a better WIM around em. See companies black rock is also talking to and that will give you a clue

@am my family has used Stifel for three generations. Curious how that would affect me at a personally level.

There are laws on how much of a percentage of deposits banks can hold. So without any sort of exception due to a risk of systemic bank failures, Wells Fargo can’t merge with another retail bank.

With CS being focus on Wall Street not Main Street, I’d see WF buying an investment bank. On internal websites they’ve been touting M&A activities in the last few months.

Stifel is an interesting choice. With WFA already in St. Louis along with Stifel, their brokerage unit could just stay based there and the investment bank be moved to the WF CIB HQ (Charlotte?)

They should go after RobinHood but will probably acquire Charles Schwab.
