Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VSP?

Any rumors of a VSP? With three all hands next week Mon, Tues and Wed, kinda reminds me of 4 years ago...

VSP was a way to get longer tenured people off the books by their choice. Lots of places have done because it works and is totally legit. I think what we got now is just too many people in management roles for how they view the company going fwd. This is why rifs are happening. Dont hold your breath for a VSP.

Union packages coming out like right about now. They want to get about 2500 off payroll select job titles will be offered.

Vz had wireline lay offs just last week. Why would there be a vsp right after a layoff just occurred?

The company has to fire all contractors b4 they can layoff 1 union member. Contractors save the company from paying full union benefits and salary, its to their benefit to keep contractors. VSP would be how the company gets the older ones off the books.

No way they will do another VISP, not when they can just whack employees at will.

You'll need to wait for the next CEO to do that....or 10 years, which ever is first

No it's not happening. Give it up and plan accordingly. Any layoffs will be involuntary with the smaller associated severance. The last vsp was a mistake.
