Relocate/Displacement decision timing

My manager has shared that I will likely be given the "relocate or be displaced" decision in November due to location strategy. I don't intend to relocate, and am trying to understand what the timing will actually be to be displaced once I am presented with the decision. Can anyone share what the typical timeframe has been from that point, i.e. if I am given the decision to relocate or be displaced on November 1: How much time is given to make the "decision"? And assuming I decide not to relocate, would I immediately receive notice (and potentially start working/non-working leave etc.), or is there a period between the decision window ending and the notice? Thank you.

They aren’t giving the offer to move in many areas in csbb like they did last year. COO still doesn’t seem to be offering any moves.

I was given notice of significant position change in early May. I declined relo/commute and was told i would get my 60 day notice in Q3. Someone else i know was told July.

@c1 yes potentially all of those are covered, potentially fully. Depends on your role somehow. btw in my case there was a discrepancy between the documentation and the actual agreement. The first information packet said you have to stay w/ WFC for an additional year after your primary address changes, however the final agreement stated two years... so two years you must stay or return a prorated amount of the relo expenses.

Severance is out if you choose relocation unless WF makes the decision to displace you anyway after you elected to move.

If you read the agreements failure to meet the terms of the agreement is considered a voluntary resignation and you will have to pay back any funds that they provided to you for the move.

So an obvious question. Those who said Yes to relocate and didn’t 1 year later. I am assuming that when you didn’t move you will lose out on severance a year later.right. I am guessing HR is smart enough to see through the delay scheme or maybe not. I would stall the decision then except the displacement and get the severance. I guess it depends on how much severance you have. OR does HR let you delay then give you severance when you dont relocate. I am thinking they would call it constructive quitting because you decided not to go to work by deadline

Then I will live in a truck in their parking lot during the 3 days week?

Yes, and make sure to pocket the relo allowance.

here's what my timeline was from 1Q25 - received relo offer option mid- January had to submit decision within 30 days. Did not accept and received displacement notice end of March with a 30 day working/30 day non-working notice period - so start to finish was roughly 4 months.

Each LoB can handle differently both offering relo or not and the number of working/non-working days - I know of several that when I received my relo option, they just received notice and their 30 day working notice started right that day.
And then I have a couple friends who received notice at same time as me, but 1 got 60 days all non-working and another one got 15 day working/45 non-working, so really can be all over the place.

I was offered relocation in June of last year. They gave me 30 days to make my decision. I signed the agreement in July with a reporting date of 1 year later. Had I declined then my displacement notice period (60 days of being paid to sit on my ar-e) would have started around Aug 20th and ended around the same time in Oct. With continuance the last check would have hit in late Jan.

I've heard it's something like 60 or 90 days, but I can't remember exactly.

typically you will have 30 days to make a decision and if you choose relocation you'll have 12 months to move.

Start making plans now. If you are not relocating they'll give your package as soon as you tell them.
