Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

A lot of Nasty

Many on this board are addressing Wells Fargo in a negative light. I have been here nearly 6 months and as it stands now I have no plans to ever leave.

@OP this is a “Layoff” page. Why are you here? Let’s see how long it takes before you start to see and feel the toxicity.

If you're in a cushy spot and still working remote or making enough money to deal with RTO, why leave when you can just coast until you get the parachute on a fateful Tuesday morning?

I was displaced in Feb of this year. Was kind of a shock, as I was leading 3 programs required by the former sales practices consent order. But after a week, it was all good. Despite how toxic the place was (is), I would have stayed given the great salary they paid. I have since found a better job at a much better bank, but took a large pay cut. But fully remote, so mostly worked out. Best to all of you …

@OP Why would you want to leave if your only other choice is digging in the mines for coal?

I felt like that at one point, several of us have. All it takes is one org change or them getting rid of your manager then things change quick.

Means you will be displaced tomorrow.

Wish I felt the same, meaning I would get a golden ticket.

You're a noob. You're still in the honeymoon stage and depending on what you do it could be totally fine. If you're in a role where you actually have to get anything done beyond ops stuff you'll change your tune after a while.

This is like watching everyone throw up from eating rotten meat and then taking a nibble saying it ain't so bad.

I do love my job, and my manager. The problem is, all authority to make real decisions has been centralized in HY, and those vile POSs only game plan is to intentionally torment people until they leave. They constantly lie and they want us all gone. No integrity, no vision, no leadership, no skills, no useful knowledge. They're despicable human beings, and over paid executive hacks. Every one of them deserves to be downsized themselves.

They love you too. They love to give you the pink slip and tell.you get real, and GTFO. Even if you're in India, Philippines, etc..they will use you up until AI replaces you.

If the chainsaw doesn’t get you, the lack of raises to inflation will. Plan to jump every few years. There is no longer an incentive to stick around at the same company. Loving your job can change on a dime!

I liked the first 5 out of 9 years. Never loved what I do necessarily but it paid well, I had great bosses and the people I supported were also great. Around 3-4 years ago I noticed a major shift including new management who only cared about metrics on some senior leaders deck. It was like we were missing the forest for the trees .... Now we have an army of people following the doers around with their nitpicking, we have management that is only concerned with their own well-being and a one- trick pony CEO who only knows how to cut heads. Major cultural shift and a lot of hardworking people let go based on nothing other than their location. Don't get me wrong, some not so great people let go but we have just as many who are still here because of their location.

I have found the majority of people like working at WF, including myself. I just come here to read what the 14 miserable WF employees bicker about for the day and eat popcorn.

Love it here as well. Make 200k/yr working in sales. Job hopefully not in jeopardy because I’m very good at what I do and my business line is viewed as profitable.

People who don’t like it here are lazy and should work at McDonald’s.

Add me to the “love it here” crowd. But I am under absolutely zero pretenses that my job is not a risk.

Everyone that works for WF in the USA should have a plan to leave, because Shart definitely has a plan for you to leave.

"Nasty"? way to drop in a "t-r-u-m-p-i-a-n" term - but then again maybe your good vibes will rule the day.

Don't worry. It may be you "have no plans to ever leave", but the bank will decide when you'll be displaced and let you know that morning.
