Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Congratulations and condolences

If you recently received the call for the voluntary enhanced severance acceptance, congratulations is in order. Condolences and wishing you the best for those who have and will be involved in the ongoing involuntary layoffs. For those already gone, how is the market for your skill set? It should get better in the next year once the trillions of dollars in new business start being implemented.

Unfortunately many professions will be affected by AI and technology going forward. Many see the writing on the wall and the trades are once again en vogue for Gen Z. Middle management positions will also be diminished in the near future. Many companies are already using AI including sales, dispatch, support, logistics, coding and taking fast food orders. Of course there is a small contingent of people as backup for any fallout.

"It’s all bluster so he can do a PR release or sign his name with a big sharpie."

At least he remembers what is name is and knows how to use a pen. He did not abdicate his position to his dr-g addicted son.

How are the egg prices we kept hearing about for months? Inflation is it up or down? Markets? Jobs report? Unemployment? At this point everything appears to be stable and headed in the right direction vs 2022 when super inflation was the norm.

The TACO trade has been OK, but the last six months have been nowhere near as good as the previous 24-36 for stocks.

Yeah right. It’s all bluster so he can do a PR release or sign his name with a big sharpie. He’s just a dangerous carnival barker who’ll mess up the economy.

HE DOES NOT CARE!!

Spent 23+ years at ATT as a Manager. The last 10 years was he-l. The amount of meetings I was asked to attend revolving around party planning, luncheons and decorating the office for the quarterly dog and pony show in Richardson, Texas was an absolute embarrassment. Our Leadership at the time couldn’t find their Ar-e with both hands.

Business and markets will be improved once the tax reduction bill is passed and more fairer trade deals are signed through the summer.

Watch how quickly AI becomes transformative in the next few years. Just one example of transformational tech was the smart phone, look how quickly it changed society and business.

AI, robotics, drones, tech etc. will pose serious employment and human rights issues on how to address a larger worldwide population with reduced labor needs. The few minority will have more control over the majority when that happens.
