Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Concerning

I was laid off from Technology, and it’s been seven months without success in finding a new position. I suspect that having Wells Fargo on my resume might be a contributing factor, as some employers must have a negative perception of the company. In hindsight, I wish I had chosen a different organization to work for, as my experience there hasn’t served me well in the job market.

Keep at it. Worse time to find a job is when you don't have one.

I am not in Tech, so I don't care. Tech is all Indians anyway.

Wells tech is years behind. If all your resume is about what you did at Wells, the chance of getting an interview is slim.

When someone asks you in an interview why you chose Wells Fargo, you say "I wanted to be part of an organization that swindles its customers". Expect to be hired on the spot.

Funny thing, I applied at another bank and was asked by the recruiter if I was affected by the big layoff? I said yes and we both laughed! It was a great screening interview.
Apparently the hiring manager was not interested in talking with me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Blame the Indians, blame WF.... everybody else's fault.

Could be the job market. I came from WFC Technology myself and moved to another bank without issues and I am proud of my accomplishments at WFC. I still miss the culture at that bank and the people there that should not be taken for granted. I left because I was forced to relocate.

almost 9 months here from technology - not even a single interview yet.
the previous comment about being up against indians who lie like dogs on their resumes is 100% accurate.
it is a total cr-p job market right now. good luck to you and all the others WF laid off in favor of cheap, foreign labor.

I’ve had lots of interviews after working for Wells Fargo and it’s never been an issue. The only people it’s an issue for are all the Wells Fargo haters. And those haters are not in a position to hire you. They are too busy posting hate on this board.

Just keep plugging away, your time will come. Keep talking to people who are positive and willing to offer feedback and advice.

@a2+1jxgs19qd Great advice…
Just like OP, I truly felt having Wells Fargo on my résumé was a dealbreaker. I had interviews but never chosen to move past second interview. So, when interviewers ask you if you have questions, I would suggest asking them: What did they see in my resume that they wanted to talk?
Hang in there, it’s tough in the job market right now. Good luck!

I've had people in interviews outside the company ask so... why Wells Fargo? Like I had to justify my previous career. In general when people ask where I work I tell them I work in finance because its embarrassing telling them the truth.

Dirty, cheep indians. Laughing all the way to the bank.
Like that has never happened with other groups.

There are still plenty of tech jobs out there in 2025, but most of those jobs are being taken by Indians. Because Indians are dirt cheap, every compnay is trying to save costs by hiring Indians rather than Americans. Their resumes are also very fudged and extremely exaggerated, your honest resume cannot win. As they are playing dirty games, the only way to defeat them is to play dirty as well.

It's you. No cred or skills affect your value more than employment history. Just selling stuff nobody wants to buy in the current market. Thinking WF history on your resume is hindering is a disservice to yourself.

Not that simple --- probably more the resume specifics - rather than the "Wells Fargo" name.

Yet, Schart continues replacing American workers with Indian H1-B visa workers, paying these guest workers market rates that would have been paid to the American workers. These Indian workers don’t pay into our Social Security, that’s wrong.

I have not had issues landing interviews or offers despite Wells Fargo on my resume. Just be positive in interviews and tell prospective employers what you learned in your role. I tell folks that every role adds to my experience and I am looking to do the same in a new role. Just project confidence and you will be fine.

It’s not Wells. The job market is terrible right now. Tech jobs are few and far between.
