Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What happens after elimination call?

Since I had this new manager I had been gaslighted, never recognized or appreciated even for top contributions. Literally abused & bullied at every way. Had to be in fear & everytime he communicated with me I started getting pain in my chest, unable to sleep at night. To my shock inspite of all the contributions I made year end performance was inconsistently meets for the first time from Exceeds. Not one word about the achievements but only mention of risk that never happened & blatant lie. Between him & his manager I had this sense of conspiracy going on. Wish what they sow they reap. Now I got Tuesday call from manager next week will be my last working day before notice period & to document any of my work that hadn’t been yet documented for others to follow. I don’t feel like a door mat & work in humiliation next three working days.
What happens next on my last working day? Will I be getting call from my manager or from HR sharing information about notice periods etc? What exactly gets conveyed at the last call & from whom? Sooner I get this done better I will feel. No more anxiety.
Wish there is a poetic justice to all involved.

@ed, the same thing happened after I got a new manager. Previous 2 reviews - Exceeds. Then, to meet inconsistently. I'm not sure if it's related, but the new manager was someone I had an issue with and reported to HR two years prior.

@ed same thing happened to me, exceeds to inconsistent. and I then you get the random early morning displacement call. In my case my manager said I could log off after the call after I said goodbyes to the team. He said not to hand off since he felt it was cruel . To anyone getting displaced, it truly is ok, you will find another job. And life isn’t about a job. we were made to worship God. We weren’t made to chase money and strive forever. I encouraged y’all to enter into God’s rest and let Him deal with it. We can’t control what our managers will do

I left after 10+ years of always being rated a high performer after they brought in new managers who knew nothing about our work and clearly were there just to cut staff. These new managers made our lives miserable and lied about everything. I could see writing on the wall and left before I got chopped. I feel bad for you. It’s a nightmare over there.

After my call, I was paraded in my birthday suit through the town square and this strange woman behind me kept ringing a bell and exclaiming “Shame!”.

You’re getting displaced. My manager made it obvious by the way other people interacted with me. The whole notion of “they don’t know until a few days prior” is nonsense. You’ve been targeted.

Don’t give them anything. Long story short you gave them a reason not to like you and the manager wants to replace you because either you’re relied upon too much and/or the processes in place require someone with a unique skillset.

With the said being displaced was great. Basically a two month paid vacation for me.

Are you being terminated for a cause or layoffed? In any case, I would not do much for this f-era if they treat you this way… maybe if “break” something just for the he-l of it

Managers aren’t supposed to tell someone ahead of time, except in very specific circumstances where they are permitted to give “pre notice” which is extremely rare

The day of, you will be read the script from the manager and most likely told that your access will be shut off by early afternoon. They will also confirm your personal email because all the information about severance goes to you by email.

Most of the time the call comes from your direct manager though the one up manager could attend in some cases. Usually there is a script they have to read wanting to make sure you’ve updated workday with your email, phone , etc. They go over equipment, badge, cell return and other stuff I can’t remember right off. In amicable circumstances you may have an hour or two sometimes longer to wrap up before your access is suspended. You should get an email from Cisive that day or within a few days with displacement info so make sure your email and address info is updated now. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it as that’s what happened to me. Hang in there it is hard but a huge relief too.

I was told next Tuesday will be my last working day and to document & train others. Is that even legal to ask?

Are you saying that you know that you’ll be let go next week or you think you’ll be let go?
