Next big layoff?

Since this is a layoff site, does anyone know when or if another is likely to come to wireless ops? Seems like it should happen soon, things dont seem right. We need to hire but we aren't, there is more work than we can manage. So it seems like the best time to make cuts. Plus the company stock went down 3.00 a share, almost 10% over a couple days.

V is going down because people are too smart for their free stuff campaign... If you're younger, get out while you can... If you're an old squatter, hang on for a package. But, big Red is hoping you'll just quit because you can't stand the recycled sales promotions that don't bring anyone to the stores. By the way, handing over V stores to Authorized is like tossing an old cheesecake, nobody goes there either expect old folks to pay bill... Lol

Verizon’s been under mounting pressure: declining postpaid adds, flat ARPU, and a leadership team trying to sell cost discipline while still bloating HQ roles and consulting spend. Wireless ops are stretched thin, yet hiring is frozen — that’s usually a setup for a ‘realignment.’ Add a $3 stock drop, and it wouldn’t be surprising if a restructuring is being teed up to reassure investors before the next earnings call. Keep an eye on Finance and HR activity — that’s where the early signs usually show.

There are always small cuts here and there every month or so but the big headcount cuts happens around Oct-nov...with all new stupid reorganizations our brilliant leaders came up with that it is already affecting the daily business operations, do not be surprised if something big happens sooner...maybe August.....this cannot go for long operating like this....every business unit is suffering

Wireless Ops has been stretched thin since Q1, but leadership seems more focused on massaging quarterly optics than supporting frontline teams. If this pattern holds, cuts may be used to ‘streamline’ under the guise of cost control—especially if investor pressure spikes. Irony is, gutting Ops during operational stress is a great way to guarantee churn, outages, and talent loss. Let’s not pretend it’s about performance anymore—it’s balance sheet theater.
