Ex-Coworker has brain aneurysm

A former colleague of mine went offline for a few weeks. I contacted his brother and found out he had an aneurysm from layoff related stress. Their suspicion is stress caused an increase in blood pressure which lead to his brain aneurysm.

The person had the brain aneurysm to begin with. The worry and related conditions could have caused it to rupture but the aneurysm was medically already there. Many reasons for one said by one who has both brain and heart aneurysms. I'm a walking time bo-b and can only hope I'm still employed when they bleed so my wife can collect insurance.

Well my first job was for a really, I mean REALLY, cushy role and none of my friends or family or myself could understand how one get a first job like this.
It turns out that my predecessor had a heart attack at that very desk, died before the paramedics arrived at that desk. Company couldn’t pay anyone internal enough to sit there. After I delivered the project a year later, someone clued me in about what happened.

Stress is an unfotuate part of the job at IBM waiting each quarter to get laid off while work piles up. There was an incident of an employee in Canada who died by su----e at work a few years ago.

@ab+1jyfe4ta8 No he’s not a current worker. He was a former coworker but is working for the govt when stress got to him. Unfortunately he reached out and we didn’t really know just how badly he was asking us for help.

A brain aneurysm does not occur because of IBM.

It may be stressful but so are a lot of things in life - not everyone develops a brain aneurysm

the causes are so multifactoral.

You are reaching, unfortunately.

Sorry to hear that and hope he recovers.

In a just universe, every IBM-induced stress-related illness, aneurysm, heart attack, stroke, hypertension, depression, self-harm would get added to Alvind's karma. There are ways to go about making difficult decisions as a CEO, and he has chosen the most cruel, inhumane methods while personally profiting off of it and appearing to enjoy it immensely. Fracking sociopath.
