Fix what's broken

I’m so tired of watching everyone waste time trying to “fix” stuff that isn’t even broken. Instead of focusing on what actually needs attention, they mess with things that were working just fine. It’s frustrating because all this chaos drags down the whole team and makes everything harder. If leadership would just put energy into the real problems, maybe things wouldn’t feel so hopeless. Right now, it feels like we’re losing good parts of the job while the real issues keep piling up.

The last sentence thanks! Experienced it Many times in my 27 years in IT there ( retired now). Costly and time consuming to fix mistakes and support problem areas that were inherited from short term senior experts.

This is a far too common thing. I remember the digital team was asked to automate our modeling process which entailed numerous meetings before work hours and months of review on what our process was. Ultimately they failed and we continued to use excel, which ironically worked fine for our day to day work. There were other initiatives that could’ve helped us and given the digital team a win but years later their failures still permeate throughout the environment. Perhaps I’m being too harsh but Digital overall was one of the biggest flops to ever hit this company. And a lot of people responsible for these failures have moved on to other companies, yet their damage still caused some longer term consequences.
