Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Notice Period

Sounds like most people that are given their notice get to leave immediately. Any one else made to stay 3 weeks into their 60 day notice? This is brutal and torture! Sorry Just venting! Basically twiddling my thumbs with no work to do as it’s all been handed off already. System access is limited. I’ve said all my goodbyes already…can’t imagine another 2 weeks of this.

Any days non working you should consider pleasure. Many large corps walk you out that day with severance only.

I had to “work” 30 of mine in CIB. Absolutely a total waste of time as they had removed access to two-thirds of the systems I used. I logged on first thing in the a.m., then around lunchtime, then before end of day. No email and zero to do. It was the strangest thing I have ever experienced in 30 years of work. But yes, greener pastures ahead.

I had to work 56 of the 60 notice days. The last 4 days fell during Thanksgiving week, so they "graciously" decided to make them non-working. Soldier on. You can do it. Life will be much better on the other side.

It happens. Depends on the LOB and the specific role. In my group about half the 60 day notice period is worked and employees tend to get about 6 months of pre-notice before that.

yeah - online training -- pick some courses or topics that interest you, and maybe that will be engaging. Not video-game engaging, but you know, enough to maybe pass the time and pick up some knowledge.

Got any summer reading? How’s things with the manager?

I know this is a possibility when laid off, but when everything is handed off, can’t they just say peace out at that point?

That is nuts. Do as little as possible and take as much training as you can.
