Tech manager of a team of managers confirmed tech layoff wave is complete until the fall. I hope that stays true. Not holding my breath.

People look at a number like 1000 and then compare it to the total number of employees and think it's small. The challenge is, the total headcount may be 220,000, but only 160k are in the US. Groups like WIM and a few others won't see much downsizing, so the number of people in the cross hairs is significantly lower than that, and they are being sla-ghtered at the current rate. It is a bloodbath, the future victims just don't know it yet. It's also not slowing down. The company has been downsizing 10-12k/year, every year. It wont stop until we're all gone.

We're currently downsizing at a rate of 1000 people per month. Just how many more would have to get fired for you to consider these layoffs to be 'massive'.

Early Aug avoids some bonus expense. I don’t think the street cares about quarter-ending headcount #s so that early Aug keeps headcount up into Q4 won’t matter.
