Identity Verification

Anyone else annoyed that we are being required to sign up for this identity verification and having to upload our drivers license?

I get providing that to HR for employment or if it’s necessary for background checks I don’t know where this is going. I think it’s very presumptuous of them to assume people are comfortable with this.

Why is this required when they already made us do 2-3 other verification routes for system access (tokens, phone app, etc)? I mean, they issued badges with chips why couldn’t that be some method of verification? There’s just so much identity fraud and stealing of our information going on in this world already and I’m really not interested in putting my entire drivers license out in digital format somewhere else.

Is this for certain applications that are privileged or is being rolled out to all?

Was this company wide or just select employees receive the notification for digital identity?

@ry I’m not so sure about this because take Jacksonville Florida for example everything is out of a 20 mile radius… going to the grocery store.. 20 miles .. it’s the most spread out city in America and a huge majority of folks would never live anywhere near southside where the office is located (the area is very much going downhill).

I refuse. I don’t even like having to have the Authenticator app on our PERSONAL phones! It’s a violation of my privacy.

@ss WFH from the International Space Station is not an option anymore while employed at BOA. Drats!!! I was hoping to be on the next team.

I do not see a problem if visiting a relative in another state if the location can support WFH requirements. Or providing assistance while in time of an emergency and still fulfill the job requirements at BOA.

As I see it, it appears again that the few is ruining again for the majority. Thanks.

I've been a fully remote employee for 5 years and I wanna say we've had to allow location for a while now.

@s9 yes, with the new digital ID verification, you have to allow location access on you phone. I think it's to discourage anyone wfh from traveling or being in a different geo location from the area in which they are employed. There is a whole faq on it

So they are also tracking your location with this and if you are outside a 20 mile radius of address on workday, you will need to get an override from manager

I don’t understand how they could manage with one person working covering for all. If this is case I think they need to be fired and a few chain of command folks as well. I can’t get away for 30 minutes of lunch.

@cd

"They don’t know who’s working and who isn’t anymore and are trying to make sure it’s a one v one situation."

That's because mid and low-level managers all act like they are C-suite level and have detached themselves from the day-to-day activities they are supposed to be overseeing.

Start actually evaluating, scrutinizing, and holding these managers accountable to ensure they are doing their jobs instead of allowing them to do nothing. Would solve so many problems.

@bc I do not understand what uploading drivers license has anything to do with WFH. Address has to match between the two? Also, @cd stated about identity issue with team/vendor. Am I missing something about security at our worksites getting duped or fraudulent badges are being issued/made? There is too much ambiguity that warrants more pertinent details to gain more insight on why drivers licenses need to be uploaded. I have my new badge, worked for 25+ years at BOA at the same worksite, and my teammates know who I am. When I enter the building, I feel that I am on the show "Cheers" as everybody knows my name. If only I can drink beer at my desk.

Rumors:

  1. There is a team that caught that had one person pretending to be a team of people and would rotate while the others didn’t do anything.
  1. Similar to above but vendors.

They don’t know who’s working and who isn’t anymore and are trying to make sure it’s a one v one situation.

Or if you don’t like it just stop working from home and then you don’t have to upload it, but at the same time start using your sick and vacation time like people did before wfh. Sick with sniffles, take whole day out. Weather or someone coming to house, take the whole day. Maybe that way when work gets bogged down and they have to rehire to pre wfh levels again to keep up they will realize the loss of productivity from their preoccupation with wfh annoyance.

Two things: number one get ready for a class action lawsuit against them. Get together with other employees in your office. We are already talking about it among teams in my office. At worst the attorney states they will have to provide identity protection to all employees. But it will get national attention at least in the media.

I personally suspect they are doing it to annoy people to not work from home anymore.
