Wells Fargo will lay off about 194 employees from its Winston-Salem branch, according to a WARN notice reported on 6/27/2025.
Most employees were notified on 6/24, all layoffs will take effect by the end of August.
WF did not give a specific reason but stated it is consolidating non-customer-facing roles to improve operations (wtf is this?).
Customer service in Winston-Salem wont be affected.
Laid of employees will be offered severance and transition support.
thank goodness the number is less than 200 it might not be as bad as everyone in Winston has been thinking
Lots of folks left on Tuesday. Extremely sad week. West End Center is like a ghost town now. The remaining are like The Walking Dead...trudging through until we get the call.
