Any updates from Winston-Salem? Who was targeted and what were you told? I've read the BS PR stuff they released by wanted to see from the workers what is actually happening.

@je might of been first to post but people here knew that was the plan over a year ago.
Once they started herding people to WEC it was matter of time. Recent layoffs surprised no one.
@je - you were wrong. There are folks here that aren’t DC. Probably here until Q1 / early Q2 next year.
Des Moines is next
They just posted the WARN notice 194 employees in Winston. June 24 notice date with Aug 23rd layoff.
Best Wishes to everyone!
- Wells Fargo will lay off 194 employees in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, effective August 23, 2025, as reported in a WARN notice.
- The affected roles span multiple business units, including consumer lending, corporate risk, and technology.
- Layoffs are tied to the bank’s exit from the chief operating office’s global operations in the city, though specific reasons were not disclosed.
- Employees were notified in waves beginning April 1, with most receiving notice on June 24, and are being offered severance and career support.
- Despite the layoffs, Wells Fargo stated its commitment to serving customers in the Winston-Salem area remains unchanged.
@je yep - i saw it there, kudos for calling it early
I posted to this board more than a year ago that Winston was closing summer 2025 save for a handful to remain for the DC. No one believed me, as I tons of down votes. Best of luck to you all.
I'm guessing that a small core will remain for the DC until the end, but everyone else will be downsized in the next couple of months. They'll want to avoid spending money on bonuses and 401k and that kind of thing. It's unlikely that anyone still around late this year is going to leave without a severance, so all a delay would do is increase that cost. No, they'll move fast.
WEC (West End Center, Winston-Salem NC) data center is open until May 2026. My team has servers there.
How that translates to other people is a not clear but I would guess no one is staying past Q2 2026.
thankfully everyone in the Center building is safe
@av Salem-Keizer Public Schools, Oregon School District 24J, was founded in 1855. We are located in the cities of Salem (Oregon’s capital city) and Keizer in the heart of the Willamette. Got your salems mixedup
@av November 2025 or November 2026? I've heard apps in the data center need to be out by May 2026 to fully exit in September 2026.
Salem Keizer school district is hoping to close on the Salem building by November. I bet we will be put on our 60 day notice sometime in September. I hope so.
It's being closed, what's the mystery?
