Just think how many things you could get done, and how much faster, if your manager wasn’t constantly breathing down your neck. Having suggestions and ideas about work they barely understand? Checking in on what you’re doing without really knowing what it is you’re working on? Sometimes it feels like their entire existence is justified only by micromanagement. And when you actually need help, they’re nowhere to be found.

Over 15 years and I've never had a micromanager here
Without micromanagement, mid-level and upper-level managers wouldn't get to enjoy their power trips.
I lived in that world once, it made the job of course not seem like a job. Then they laid off the manager and replaced them with ... say it with me. a Micromanager.
