@az Not so fast….the majority of managers in this company will do you dirty. Wolves in sheep’s’ clothing. I thought my manager had my back, until she didn’t.

@az layoff list ha! That’s corrupt too. They pick and choose and the most loyal get sc--wed out of it. So also not guaranteed

Asking a manager to lay you off is now a sure fire way to get ousted with no separation pay.
Bad idea. Just do the minimum and wait. Your time will come.

@OP, the other commenter suggested they do this sometimes. From what I saw over the years, that certainly did happen. Things are a bit different now. If they do lay you off they likely will not pay you anything. I would recommend if you are in a bad situation there, look for another job and walk out the door. Being laid off might not do you any good other than possible unemployment compensation but even that is not a given.

Ask your manager to add you to the layoff list. Sometimes, they're able to push that through.
