Wellesley to Boston to Nashua?

That is the rumor I am hearing for the ex-Eagle team. Last year BNY hired consultants that recommended that they close the Wellesley office (which now sits vacant but is still under BNY lease) and move them to Boston forecasting a voluntary separation rate of 25% as to reduce costs.

Well after 6 months in Boston that rate was closer to 3% so they are getting moved again so they can “renovate” the office that they just got moved to but everyone knows the play was never to house Eagle there long term.

Not enough open space to move them all to Everett (plus they are trying to close that location) so the options are back to Wellesley or find a new office. Same consultants are now recommending a new space within 50 miles of Boston but also inconvenient enough to drive people leaving voluntarily closer to the 25% target.

Nothing finalized but hearing Nashua, NH will be in play for early 2026.

Thoughts and prayers to anyone in that organization. They are being treated like cattle in a sla-ghterhouse.

Wellesley was the best location ever. It was convenient, cheerful, and had the best amenities of any office. So naturally that doesn’t fit with our culture and it had to close. Everett is terrible and Westborough is the sticks.

@xs

For many, the drive to Boston is highly stressful—and taking the commuter rail isn't an appealing alternative either.

@r1 Westborough is the most pointless office ever in the middle of nowhere. They should move to Boston asap. At least you will be able to get a nice lunch and a good cup of coffee.

I would prefer Nashua to Boston.

Dang, it's a shame they let me go a few weeks ago, because I wanted to move out of Manhattan and relocate to southern New Hampshire myself. Nashua is a nice place.
