Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

This was not about performance

Basically, from what I can see, if you're older and have higher pay, chances were higher to be shown the door. It's not a rule, of course, since then people could sue over age discrimination, but that seems to be the dominant factor. More people over 40 were hit than those under.

Well, Ican tell you that we've lost only one person in my team and she was a horrible performer (also she was so passive agressive that other team members kept avoiding any contact with her as it would always be a sh-tshow). anyhow, you may be right but it's not applicable to my team, lost one person and that one was the worst. i know she's on this site (she told us about it prior to being laid off) so i am expecting that she'll heavily download my comment.

age played the role, but it was not the primary reason for selection
i am confused as i've seen good people being cut but also some bad people as well, so really not sure what they were thinkin
