The exec bios and pics just scream to the analysts to downgrade the company. How the FCC allows this is beyond me. This has to be the most racist and s-x conscious company in the country.

@dw, the link to the company's executive bios is proof positive of that. There is NO WAY that almost all of them would be considered anywhere near the top of their profession. What we have at Verizon is DEI on steroids and that explains exactly why the company is not doing well. None of them are considered leaders in their fields. Some were 'last man standing' most were promoted because of race, creed, and color. Even the stock analysts know this now. Hans is incomprehensible.

Clicked that link expecting leadership. Instead, I got a lineup generated by a neural net trained on LinkedIn jargon and “10 Habits of Highly Promotable People.” Each bio screams: promoted for surviving reorgs, not delivering outcomes.

What we’re witnessing isn’t just the Peter Principle — it’s the Prompt Principle: executives elevated for echoing safe buzzwords, not bold decisions. It’s like Verizon’s leadership stack was fine-tuned to optimize career longevity, not shareholder value.

And here’s the kicker:
If I actually articulate a well-thought-out position and propose solutions?
I’m dismissed as either bitter, “not a team player,” or — ironically — accused of being AI.

@dw just looking around at who is in charge tells you everything you need to know, as it is a near statistical impossibility. The FCC really needs to looking inside what is going on at Verizon when you consider the risk that this company presents.

@d8 Been there and done that.. when one of the AVP told me that he does not have growth opportunities in the org but decided to bring their family friend in the company .. gave them higher role without having much experience in the past.. also got fired from the last job.

You can't name even 3 people at this link that deserved to be promoted to where they are. If anything, I would consider this to be a link to the Peter Principle in action.

To a lesser degree but it’s really not that hard to fake smile on a few calls and feign being someone people actually enjoy working with. I’ve been promoted twice just because I play the politics and it’s not like playing the politics involves anything remotely difficult. I have coworkers who complain about everything and wonder why they never get opportunities
