This is not uncommon, many industrial veteran (aka experienced executive) has a scheduled sale on his/her stock yearly. They are restricted to only be able to sale at certain period and certain amount without getting more SEC attention. The amount is not "out of ordinary".

One thing I would suggest was that if you are an engineer(especially in US) that is at the upside of your career and feel confident of your skills - you must look at your RSU holding in addition to the base pay+bonus. You need to ensure you got good RSU grants at least once every year (translate: you are a top performer) in addition to your sing-on RSU. Ride that for 3-5 years most. Plus, you need to watch on and ready to go to the next gig that will give you more RSU values. If you are not getting on those - get out ASAP. It is not worthy to work your b** off for nothing.

For the foreign workers, waiting for green card here: It is worth it only if you have the above. There are plenty of larger companies will do the green card. You would scarify a couple of years most(depends on your stage) but you will be able to accumulate your wealth much faster by getting out the low ball situation.

That’s 98,000 shares not $98,000

Our CFO selling $100k of stock is considered dumping?

That $100k could fund 50 engineers?

Get a grip.

Not a good look - Scott has been at Cisco a very short time and he is already dumping stock

Yep, you are spot on.

If you are a good engineer, and in your prime productivity years, and getting sh!tty or no options, and truly trying to contribute and not coast; why?

Many have their own BS LR story. I was an average TAC engineer; but was fortunate to have a few good years of options and RSUs in the 2000s. The stock made all the difference to ride it out to LR.

Now five years out after LR, semi-retired; because of the option, RSU, and ESPP cash in.

The over 50 you will thank you for working your behind off in your 30s and 40s. Many of us old timers out here. Cisco tossed us out. Your loss. Wondering where your renewal install base is going and not being refreshed? Really not too smart to kick the people out who know the products, so they then go to other companies and customers and run those networks, and refresh the gear to other OEMs and providers.

So those at Cisco in your prime years, and truly pushing; sure stay, so another cheesy executive can take your share of the pie. That sure makes sense.

Or you can do something about it. If you are working your @$$ off, truly; aren't you being taken financial advantage off?

Enjoy the Hawaii Golf!
