Email coming out this week, after Sept 8 everyone back in the office 3 days a week, however in true VZ fashion, it is not for everyone because they are also closing offices! Not sure why they would mandate this and then announce closures, but seems like the way they do most things.
They will also be focusing hiring on the offices that are staying open, so my bet is if you aren't close to one of those offices, you are at higher risk of being RIF'd.
Now the big question is will they actually enforce it. 2 days a week has been in play for a year and I can tell you with 100% certainty they never checked.

@1a5 anyone who knows the answer isn’t going to reply. My guess is that they’ll close many offices across the country or just indirectly force people out by not offering any promotional opportunities elsewhere
@15v rolling meadows?
The Cary NC location just got a brand new sign on the 6400 building and new signage all around the exteriors. Not sure where all the Cary is closing thoughts are coming from. Not saying Verizon always makes sense, but a month out seems d-mb even for berizon
@b4 yes, expectation is to close a large middle America office and put all their people w/ WFH and then back fill as needed in Dallas which will be named as a “campus” tomorrow. There will not be relo offered to anyone and WFH can continue until RIFs hit with AI taking many of the roles. Scampath will be splitting time from New York / NJ and Dallas along w/ the white wonderbread twins.
@x1 exactly. It’s always coming soon.
@ww+1k0pe7grk Next week
No email yet. When is this big announcement expected and what’s happening with those still WFH and not close to an office or hub?
3-days starting in September
@n1 finance discussed 3 days a week today and said it was almost certainly happening this year, but that they had no official information. this one is not just a rumor unfortunately
Please, please stop the RTO BS...!
@h3 no space? the entire 4th floor in 6400 looks empty. What group is hogging this space but never in the office for even 1 day a month?
seems pretty obvious there is no future in Cary North Carolina. They did RTO and didn’t have enough workstations for everyone. People have to share and they have not added any. It just has the feeling of a place going about close.
when is this getting announced? What offices are closing for sure?
AI is going to take the WFH jobs. Manual Labor will be your new job.
Closing of offices are planned in areas where there are Frontier offices. We were told 3 days a week 2 months ago starting in September. They wanted to give our org time to prepare for the change.
So hire mo--ns that live close to an office instead of talented people. Lets just unionize the whole place and become as worthless as the government in a blue state.
@be - when @op just posts vague information just for the response, he-l yes it's fearmongering. Buildings have been closing for years - nothing new. RTO is slowing coming back - nothing new. @op is looking for attention is his boring life....
@b5 want to bet it's fear mongering? It's happening unfortunately...with tracking.
Close BR
someone block @OP for fearmongering again....
Closing more offices? Does this mean, more people will convert to full remote WFH?
List coming out very soon.
Is it going to be 3 days per week, or 12 days per month? Right now the policy is 8 days a month. This gives you more flexibility.
VP in VCG 9 months ago told me that the number of hubs was being reevaluated and was likely to shrink in the future... in the same breath he also discouraged me from relocating to Cary, NC... betting that office is included in the list to close.
@ak they have not announced the list yet.
What offices will be closing?
Definitely true VZ style. EVERYONE but no everyone. The two days is not regulated unless your SD is in the same building and they want to enforce.
TMO & AT&T are doing the same thing. Cutting expenses, consolidating offices or going 100% remote in certain areas.
@a8 I am guessing they aren't closing tomorrow. It will be at least 6 months if not 2-3 years for many before they close.
@a3 I just wonder why they wouldn't close the offices and have that set first before jumping back into mandatory rto.
@a4 looks like those that are assigned as remote stay remote. Only hybrid coming back 3 days
what about remote contractors ?
It is very simple why they are announcing office closures, it is to reduce costs and be more efficient with real estate.
