Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

SVPs and up just need someone to blame….

I posted this as a comment on another thread but I just want to hear everyone else’s opinions. I’ve been here for about 2 years now. I’m lucky to have a job but man does it su-k having to come in 3-4 days a week just to sit at a desk on calls with teams in Pune. And then managers get annoyed with YOU because clients are upset and answers are taking too long but the truth is, the workflow process is all sc--wed since 75% of our work has been transitioned to offshore teams. You get hired for a 9-5 job but you need to communicate with people on the other side of the world who work completely different hours. I send a message and don’t get a response until 6 hours later. It makes 0 sense and messes up communication…… but riiiight……. I’M the one tracking below expectations…….. make it make sense !!!!

@OP in my dept, for the work offshored to them , they have to work shifts that match our shifts here so they are available. The turn over rate is quite funny. Now because they wont get rid of them seeing they also cant do the work either, they're going to take the work we do for international clients . The wxcuse is “ they're closer to the time zone”. Yeah im sure thats the reason

It doesn’t have to make sense, it just has to make money for RV and his cronies.
