That or whatever management discipline "Leadership" has decided to adopt 10 years after every other company has adopted it and found it to be detrimental to their business. Kind of like Socialism. "The right people haven't tried it". One day, one day "Leadership" will stumble into a management philosophy, and I do mean stumble, that will allow AT&T to grow the core business. This will quickly be abandoned. AT&T will be once again looking 10 years in the past for Industry Leading " best" practices.

Well, Chris T. Rice handed out "Where's my Cheese" one year, not sure if he read it - but the rest of us opened it, perused it, threw it into the trash.
Someone tells these D.A.'s about the latest & they buy into the crud. I guess "Captain Beans" put this on his A&D and got a huge raise for spending money on a useless concept that would never work at this h311hold of a company.
I could list 100 of these useless, no knowledge supposed "executives" - time for a good cleanout. Let the terminations begin.
Sorry ESG is the hot NEW multi-level marketing plan for now. No soup for you!
Six Sigma, a process looking for a problem.
We have six sigma it is the failure called MSOC/Snowglobe.
The bright side is that they fired most of the MSOC coaches.
Here is a new winning business concept, hire the best and most qualified person for the position.
Flatten the command and control structure. What company needs 4 levels of VP (exec, senior, vp, associate vp) with direct reports of staff and do little jobs? They are are constantly changing systems and procedures unnecessarily to justify their jobs.
It is very unproductive for the real producers to constantly adapt and learn while trying to do the same job they’ve been doing for years.
I get what you're trying to say, but socialism being detrimental, in this century? If not for sanctions, Huawei would be wiping the floor in 5G. We should certainly be copying whatever they're doing. The race and gender silliness is coming from liberalism.
“A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude.” ― Aldous Huxley, Brave New World
The solution is simple.
Hire more low performing "peoples da colour" and females who identify as "ceiling inspectors".
I recall when the big Six Sigma push took place, mid-2000s, many lower rated people were pushed out and given that role rather than showing them the door. My org had a lot of low performers with Green Belt, Black Belt, six sigma email taglines like they were experts. I saw limited value to the org at that time.
I recall the Deming years rule s
- you must follow all steps to succeed or this won't work.
- eliminate all employee reviews
AT&T skip rule 2
another failed system (surprised?)
Six Sigma can't save AT&T.
Had we actually stuck to real six sigma and lean principles we would be a much more focused workforce.
