Peakon - not really anonymous?

I heard that people were fired over their negative comments on ‚anonymous’ peakon survey. Is it true that Peakon is not really anonymous? Is there anyone who can confirm that?

@29x Well....so much for building a quality environment where feedback is welcomed and encouraged!

Everyone is ultra paranoid, insecure about defending their own positions. It is indeed very sad that MDs are so brazen about their authority that they will openly discuss and find ways to eliminate your position especially if you are a risk impediment to theirs.

Whatever happened to BNY contracting with a 3rd party to manage the Peakon survey feedback so that results are aggregated and reported at more senior levels and the identifies of respondents are masked so that feedback is not traceable to the specific team or individual?

Why would anyone ever provide HONEST feedback given the current reporting process and culture? The current HR management process is very deliberate and there are no guardrails in this toxic cesspool. There is seemingly no regard for the cost of quality. This is yet another example of #BattleRoyale.

I’ve been to meetings with mdirs who openly discussed they need to get rid of those who lower their peakons, and they knew very well who those were.

Peakons are not to improve anything, they are to identify people to get rid off.

The Peakon surveys are worthless.

I was in a department that turned-over 47 employees from March 2023 to February 2025.

The only thing that ever came out of these surveys, we had a group meeting during the summer of 2023 asking "us" to stop swearing in the survey responses.

Unless you work on a team with more than ten people, NEVER respond to a Peakon survey with any negative comments. Whether the surveys are still confidential or not, managers can figure out who you are based on what you say and the composition of your writing.

Peakon surveys are worthless. I worked in a department with serious management and staffing issues, and all of our collective feedback were ignored survey after survey.

A few years ago, I answered one of the Peakon questions a little (or a lot) too truthfully and candidly. Within 48 hours I got an email from my manager's manager asking to discuss my comments. I have not answered a Peakon survey since. And if I am forced to answer one, it will be all sunshine and roses from me from now on. I do not intend to make that mistake again.

Question…. Is BNY the layoff truly ‘anonymous’? Am seeing and noticing many threads here where even rational, factual, helpful posts and responses are disappearing.

So to the Debbie or Donnie Deletists out there, please refrain from being a bad company collaborator.

While we are all at it. Can anyone anywhere attest or point out any kind of evidence where P-e-on has made anyone’s work life better ?
It’s a m f ing joke. Just phony lip service to make it look like management is somehow managing. Uhhhhh nope.

@OP I always told my team not to believe anything that says it is anonymous. Today's age of tech proves that. Plus I often got contacted directly for my comments since I was quite blunt.

It still says anonymous when you start it. If it's not, they lied.

@b1 That used to be the case. Peakon was anonymous because the results went externally. As of the last round, it's not anonymous.

Workday can be configured so that peakon surveys are not anonymous. Hard to say who all has that access.

@a8 tracked for threats or physical harm. Not for BNY purposes like they seem to think

It is certainly anonymous. However, as a people manager I will often have an idea which team member is making certain comments based on my knowledge of the team.

I remember when Peakon was anonymous. If we have people today that understand differently, that tells you how low this bank has fallen. If you're management, and you're reading this comment right now, you have nothing to be proud of. You're an absolute disgrace! (And then these people wonder why they get trashed on social media!)

Seriously OP, do you even have to ask this? There is a disclosure at the bottom of it saying it isn’t. And anyone using the Bank’s internal apps and software is tracked. Your IP and Comit id are applied to everything. Big Eliza is watching. Don’t be naieve.

100% not anonymous. No different than this site. You can post as ‘anonymous’ however there is a disclaimer that it is tracked.

If that were true they would have one he-l of a case against BNY seeing its always presented as “anonymous” .

The most recent peakon had a note at the bottom that its not anonynous and that certain people may have an access to all info.

I can’t speak to 2025 but when Peakon was adopted (2019?), it absolutely was anonymous.

That said, depending on team size, it can often be easy to match the comment to the employee, which I told those behind the product’s adoption. I think it’s naive to think people can safely speak their truth with many managers.
