Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If the union calls a strike in August ‘26, will you walk or resign and scab?

Less than a year to go. Remembering the last strike. Thinking of all the union does for me.

2026 may turn out to be the year of the scab.

Union really don’t help when your in trouble or management trying to get rid of you. You get suspended for months like that’s d-mb as he-l

They probably wouldn’t call 911. And I have seen too many times to count these great union members working unsafe as well. Safety is the issue when it is time to slow down, otherwise it is hurry up so I can find a place to sleep or watch tv.

@sn last few strikes have had yet to see one contractor secure a ladder!! for that matter do anything safe or even fix anything the whole time.So I believe what they were saying was when they don’t secure the ladder or do anything safe .I didn’t see them mention if they would dial 911 or not

They fly in all the Indian vz workers for strike duty and put them in nice hotels. Then they won’t want to leave

Pretty sure if a lot people are on strike not getting paid the few that would think about crossing while we’re all out not getting paid won’t be walking too well rest their short career.Oh and most managers are almost as d-mb or maybe d-mber now then the scabs they dig up out of the Everglades to come up here.In fact most management is completely clueless careless

Re Post ID: @cp. I think past strikes they just put people on wireless. But also, ya gotta stop thinking you’re the only one that can do the job and nobody else can figure it out . It ain’t that hard and you ain’t that important.

I remember the last strike. They took all my buttsets off my truck and gave them to the management rejects. They didn’t know that most of those butsets were defective. I heard one manager came back to the garage for another buttset several times and she was in tears. If we do strike everyone must look for ways to disrupt management while we are out.

Management isnt capable of doing the work, neither are contractors. The job is too niche, especially FIOS, but even copper would take six months to get it right and by then the strike would be over. Better off just letting work sit if there is a strike or forcing people onto wireless plans.

They now have HCL (huge presence in US) in their back pocket, while they can't do the physical work locally they can be used for testing, call center..ect and the scabs can do the rest. So a strike might backfire pretty quick.

They really expect the new hires to walk in a circle when they don’t have the same perks as us not even 401k in the current contract 🤣🤣🤣🤣 they are definitely gonna cross they will get 2 options 1. Cross and make tons of cash and stay employed or 2. Fired!!! But hey the union is getting there dues so either way they win it’s the Democrat way! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Union may be weak but may be all that is protecting your job from being outsourced to HCL India or Ireland etc. Do you really think the company is going to be loyal to you for scabbing?

The Union doesn’t call a strike, they take a vote. Then you stick with the results. It’s not that hard.
