After over 20 years with Wells Fargo, they laid me off today. I was the happiest person in the room.
Two months salary and medical, and a 20 year severance package. With that, I'm retired!

You're one of the lucky ones OP. Probably less than 0.1% of those that get downsized hit that kind of lottery where they were already able to retire. You're an inspiration. It's what I'm hoping to pull off someday, a few years down the road.
