Managers give notifications. If they are on the list themselves they learn their destiny after the deed is done. No advance warning.

Let the ELT know that making employees wait this long was mentally abusive.

I disagree. I've been LR'd at a company that announced in May that 5,500+ people would be LR'd in Aug and then 5 yrs later at a company that announced a 5,500+ reduction and was notified the very next morning.

The one w/ months of advanced notice even gave the details of the severance package. The one with no notice kept the package details "confidential" and only disclosed it to those being LR'd.

Neither way is very fun, but the kn--e-in-the-back while getting kicked-in-the-a$$-out-the-door was way more traumatic to me than having advanced notice and postponing big financial decisions.

The only good thing about this LR is that they've timed it such that you're still an employee through the first week of Feb or to mid-Mar depending on what option you choose. You're not having to job hunt over the holidays like people in previous LR's who were notified in Aug, separated in Sep, and the severance package ends in Dec. That's the sh---y deal. Being notified in Dec, but being separated in Feb/Mar and then having some yet-to-be-disclosed severance package gives people plenty of time to dust off their resumes, start networking and applying to jobs before they separate and/or run out of severance. And they're getting their severance at the time of year when companies typically start hiring instead of it ending when companies are halting hiring for the holidays because the people who are doing the interviews are taking time off from work.

Do I like being LR'd? No. Do I like how this one is being handled compared to others? Yes. I've personally experienced this both ways and it's much better this way, in my opinion.

Managers impacted, who also have impacted employees, will be given option to notify employees or allow their Director to do it.

That seems illogical. If they're not notifying people until the 12th, why would they notify the manager early. And what's the incentive for the manager, who is being impacted, to follow the rules in how to notify their direct reports.

Impacted managers are in the dark and Directors and/or HR will be handling that manager's direct reports.

Worth noting that some regions won't fine out until Jan/Feb

Unless you have employees in certain, complex regions (like the UK or Germany) then yes - lists are going out mostly today to managers/directors.

My manager in CX just scheduled a Thursday morning meeting. He mentioned getting an email from the boss about our faith. Sound like we'll know this week

List will be shared by end of day Wednesday. Managers impacted, who also have impacted employees, will be given option to notify employees or allow their Director to do it.
