Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

It’s crazy how every role is getting outsourced

The company has zero loyalty to anyone who’s been here for years.

The underfunded teams at WTS are being heavily burdened with tasks that would typically require double or even triple the resources of a properly staffed office. Akash and his buddy Arek have also appointed Nick, “The Skunk,” in New York City to oversee his new dashboard and enforce strict deadlines, with incidents not assigned within 15 minutes of receipt.

This situation is intentionally designed to lead to failure. The company’s intention is to outsource the work to low-cost contractors who lack the necessary knowledge and expertise to handle the responsibilities associated with this role. This outsourcing is inevitable.

Welcome to The Bank Of Pune.

The TRUTH is, BNY is using a caste system that your culture adores. You are a product of societal caste racism and misogyny. BNY Management wants shoe cobblers, street vendors and snake charmers that can act as programmers and analysts. You are that. You go to a cut rate fly by night school and get a piece of paper claiming you are technical but you are still just a servile servant. Higher heights? It would be wonderful if the board of directors mandated that all of BNY’s people could all come from and be in India. The resulting torrential monsoon of illogic, delays, failures, client outrage, pandering and billions of emails asking when to stand up and sit down, would insure that BNY would sink within days or weeks. Let’s hope for that!

@ms don't be fooled by BNY my friend, your jobs will be outsourced in a blink of an eye to Bangladesh as soon as they will be able to.

To all the racists here, this company WILL survive and even reach greater heights - measured by stock price - without your contribution. MAGA crowd or not, the Indians rule here and are going to dominate whether you like it or not.

AND YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Not even the buffoon

That IS the TRUTH.

@hf Anyone who stares at a table of cheese and cr--kers in confusion and feeblishly sniffs them like a curious cat doesn't deserve to work for my company, let alone live in my country. They call them "undeveloped nations" for a reason.

Is that all you’ve got?
The fact is, these are facts. And they are events that happened. And you cannot deny or refute it. That must be terribly annoying to you. What’s more, this company is dangerously unbalanced due to the use of low experience, low budget, low skilled Indian resources who do not stay here long. All of this is because of a cut throat greedy CEO and chairman who views India not as skilled human beings but more as a 3rd rate flea market. So grab your ankles Sabu and tuck the racism back in your thinking space where is belongs.

All fake. Take a look at LinkedIn - the company is brilliant, lots going on in America and everyone's so proud and happy to work there. Fantastic new offices in Poland, Dublin and Pune. Such a great and inspiring company to work for.

Would make ya sick

@bz
It is painful and resentful at the same time. I stopped going to these ‘holiday parties’ because I am only here to get paid now. I treat it like a bad job. And it is. I do not like the people, culture or atmosphere. This is toxic, fake and ugly. I refuse to spend any more of my time here than is needed at a minimum. I am going to be getting out of here very soon. The last 3 years I have been here have been a waste of time. There is nothing mirthful or happy about this forced work camp and it’s fake parties. It’s a disgrace and you should not give one minute of your personal time or any after hours to this.

@b5 One particular event that sticks out for me was the 2023 Holiday party at 240 Greenwich. I'd say about 3/4ths of the people at the event were Indian, and during the festivities Bridget E. took the mic and gave an announcement where she cracked jokes and bantered. Nobody in the audience clapped or laughed, because most of them couldn't speak English or understand American idioms. The whole party was just a huge crowd of non-Americans awkwardly staggering around and picking at the hors d'oeuvres in confusion because they weren't used to regular people food.

By the 2024 party, I wandered around the building not recognizing a single person, because most of my former coworkers have since left the firm or were replaced with Indians.

@bh I feel your frustration. I too keep wondering how long before this trend really does begin to have devastating consequences.

You know? We have all these ‘so called’ workers laws, protections, unions and politicians who swear to protect Americans and ‘the little guy’. Yet, here we see rising prices in homes, crazy requirements to get approved for financing and most of all, our jobs being outsourced or AI’d. When do these ‘so called’ controllers, managers, politicos etc get called out for extreme failure and lip service only when they aren’t protecting us?99% of the jobs going to India are NOT because of a shortage of labor or the ability to fill those jobs here in the US. No. What it is about is being CHEAP and politicians cozying up to big corporate donors. When average home costs are $700k where the jobs are supposed to be, but, you cannot get a job because its going to India or AI, It isnt going to be long before we have catastrophe. India and outsourcing countries have their purpose. But when they become harmful parasitic communities that ruin the Host country by leaving its people unemployed, that’s more than a problem.

It’s truly pathetic. US based employees repeatedly getting let go for those inept jokes in India. This company is an embarrassment. And for every US based manager who glazes those clowns, u cannot wait for the day I get an official offer elsewhere because I’m going to light you up and out you to everyone. This forum needs to be allow names to be mentioned

The sad reality: none of us ever mattered. I was just in a call with our India counterparts and their level of knowledge was so appalling as to be staggering in its ineptitude. On top of that, we could barely understand them. Bad, bad, bad. Pitiful.
