As a former GE Digital employee, I still keep in touch with friends who remain there. Recently, several of them were let go—not for performance issues, but despite having exemplary work ethics, decades of service, and deep company knowledge. These are people who have been with GE long enough to see the company through major transitions, bringing stability and expertise that can’t be replaced overnight.
It’s hard not to notice that many of those affected are in the later stages of their careers, which makes their departures even more surprising—and raises questions about why such seasoned professionals, with proven track records, would be the ones to go.
I was let go after 24.7 years
