Wilson Towers Watson- Cash Balance Plan

Has anyone had issues getting a hold of their cash balance at Willis Towers Watson? I uploaded all the forms and was promised a check mailed shortly after Dec 1st. Now I can't get into my account online and when I call they say it's been "delayed" and a check will be mailed out mid Dec. I looked up the company and the reviews are terrible. https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.willistowerswatson.com?page=3.

Anyone else have experience with this company?

Please elaborate if it's not safe.

I plan to retire in the next two years, and I just want to get that little check every month for the sake of laughing at WF when I receive it. Not that it's much money at all, just that I want them to keep paying me every month forever so I can buy beer with it or something that makes me smile while saying F them at the same time.

I waited 10 days then filed a complaint with CFPB and they called me the next day. Check was in the mail 2 days later. Recently had WF branch tell me that WF does not sign a US Treasury Direct Account bank change form that is required by the US Treasury. Spent 2 days bouncing around call center land then filed a complaint with CFPB at 9:37 am one morning. WF called me at 1:02 pm. I sent them the US Treasury form and procedure and not a word since. Coming up on 4 days. Can't wait to email CFPB on status later this week.

Also amazing to me is I took seven figures from my 401K and cash balance plan and moved to a competing financial institution. Wells Fargo NEVER reached out to me about keeping that money with WF. They are the only one who knew the actual dollar totals. Citibank called me when I changed my Linkdin status to retired. Ally Bank called me after I deposited 50k in my savings account. WF had a chance to grab this customer first and whiffed.

To the commenter who said it's super stable - have you looked at it lately? Notice any changes to the rules? Things aren't as safe as you thought.

BTW. The cash balance plan is super stable, it never loses money and it only gains a couple Hund per quarter, so hopefully they’ll get around to your check just after the next interest payment on 12/31 b!t

Great points Op! Yes, I left and decided to roll that cash balance into my new, much better 401K at my new and much better job outside of Wells Fargo. That check did take a long time for them to cut and send. Get on their account message service and ping those b!t(he$ daily, Mo-o!

OP here. Every time I call them it appears as if I am getting the run around. No straight answers, no accountability. First I was told I'd get my funds on or right after Dec 1st, now it's Dec 16th. Asked to expedite and it's "I can put the request in, but it's whatever THEY decide" Who's "they"- the Wizard of Oz ? All I get is a bunch of diversions. "Weelll, it's taking so long because you requested ..................", "Don't worry, you're not losing any money in the meantime"- I just want my questions answered, not a bunch of excuses/diversions.

not yet...but I doesn't surprise me!! Nothing at WF does anymore--whatever WF can do to keep you from getting what's rightfully yours ........
