The culture here feels suffocating

Does anybody else feel like you're being monitored nonstop? It could just be my micromanaging boss, but it's making me hate my job.

After having left ill occassionally see someone at the company im at who worked for bank of america for short while. So far these have all been top contributors, suggesting more and more that those with a proper drive tend to be wise enough to move onto better oppertunities.

To the commentator who noted that Bank of America is its own little world, you’re absolutely right. The irony is that those who are successful at Bank of America would find it very difficult to be successful elsewhere.

Yes, it’s quite disorganized and because things never work management is always stepping in. There’s so much dysfunction.

Well, not everyone is having a bad time. What about the affairs between the US employees and the ones back in India? I am wondering if the HR has the required tools for monitoring what is going on.

While Bank of America has potential, my experience has been that in GT&O consistent high performance and tangible results do not necessarily translate into advancement or recognition.

In many cases, promotion and bonus decisions appear influenced more by internal politics and personal relationships than by objective performance metrics. This can be discouraging for employees who are committed to delivering quality work and driving outcomes for the business.

I believe the company could greatly benefit from increasing transparency in its promotion and reward processes, ensuring that merit and measurable contributions are central to career progression. A stronger focus on fairness and accountability would likely improve morale, retention, and overall team performance.

BofA is a great place to dial it in. You will never be called out for incompetence. In fact, if you don't get a call together for half a dozen people and screen share and ask people what button to press, you aren't doing it the BofA way.

BofA is both micromanaged and yet has no leadership or strategy which is quite a feat to pull off.

Agree. The work just gets moved around for people to clean up. When the bank could lower their staff with quality people and get the job right the first time and not constantly cleaning up. Never ending cycle here.

Working at Bofa is its own little world. Those who take it as a first job i feel for them as it is not a good representation of the real world. People at this company learn how to get away with things instead of how to do a good job.
