Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Seriously how is CR keeping his job?

Look at CEO interviews for other tech companies. They are so much smarter and more knowledgeable and insightful about their businesses.

Wishful thinking, but would be nice if Chuck resigned and admitted he is most hated CEO

"His job isn't to be popular - it's to maintain a steady ship by selling mostly legacy technology and managing cost. Like it or not, he's actually doing pretty well at that."

From a financial engineering perspective, I would say CR is doing his job. We generally hit our numbers and have maintained or improved our margins under his tenure.

"look at the stock price since he took over. it was middling in the 20-30s under chambers. You guys give chambers WAYYYYY too much credit on here and CR not nearly enough."

From a stock price perspective, I would say you are way off base. the 20-30 dollars you mention is not adjusted for the growth in the wider market. Just take a look at CR's tenure and the stock price compared to the NASDAQ composite or any of our competitors. There was only a few month period from 3/19 - 8/19 where we did better than the composite. At our worst, when then every other tech stock was going gang busters, we were out performed by around 115 percentage points and we are standing today at deficit of 44% compared to the composite. put down the kool-aid, too much sugar can rot your brain.

CR is an embarrass to himself. Other CEOs left a mark in everyday's life. The only mark is left is in the lives of the family members of the people he laid off

It's almost as if the board is fine with seeing this ELT lose market share in all categories. Robbins seems unable or unwilling to make hard decisions and eject folks like Jeetu. How hard can that be? Invite EVP and ask what he or she is going to do to stop hemorrhaging. Give EVP two more quarters to shape up or ship out. Done.

A Cisco culture of sycophancy is how he keeps his job.

@sxo+1k35RvbZ But they’d because he’s ceo rather than a qualified person.

Unqualified to be the CEO from day one
The Cisco board needs to fire him just like Disney board just did

The CEO role at Cisco is to maintain strategic relationships and cut costs. He does both of those very well. His job isn't to develop the next breakthrough technology or even navigate future trends.

Cisco sells and markets legacy network equipment.
