It is performance, now how people work.

You can have people stay in office to devote on their Facebooks. You have people work "long hours" in office but spend most time surf web (I did that before).

If people perform and deliver, companies really don't need to care too much on how they work.

For low performers, management then need to be tough. For instance, if a person misses important mile stone, give stern warning, if he has an excuse, a server warning, if he has a good excuse, then fire him on spot.

I am in my late 20’s and wish WFH was eliminated so I can learn from more senior people as feel like I am wasting my time at Cisco

CFO is just a bean counter who is measured on cutting costs
He has no idea nor cares about growing revenue
He will stay fours years and take his vested RSU millions to his next gig

I love not having to set my alarm in the morning, having a nice breakfast, then head to gym at 10AM when it is not crowded, followed by lunch with my other WFH buddies
Long live WFH until Chapter 11

My co-workers who worked from home before the pandemic, long before, are really role models of productivity. I admire them and they pioneered the WFH model.

The rest of us who had WFH forced by Covid, and now don't want to give it up, are not productive employees. Just be honest. You know it's true. I know it's true. I hate working from home, but my office is already closed.

I take advantage of working from home like most people, but have to agree WFH is not in the best interest of trying to keep Cisco afloat for few more years

Which office will they mandate employees go to? The ones Scott Herren said Cisco planned on closing, offloading, selling, and terminating lease agreements to save millions?

I've been remote for most of the last 10 yrs, and just over a year here at Cisco, and find myself working harder than I have in previous roles. There certainly are slackers among the WFH crowd, but most of us put in the work needed to do our jobs.

WFH may get 4 hour work days. Tops.
Better to feel "safe" than to get actual work done.
Family and fun over work and outcomes. Cisco way.

ELT would not be able to show off their $10M mansions on WebEX if they couldn't WFH

Working 5 days per week in the office will weed out the unethical employees

The part-timers who visit this site will hate this post, but no way Cisco would have grown in the 90's with a bunch of lazy WFH employees

Scott Herren, CFO has $20M of RSUs, moved to Atlanta and works from home. Come on now…
