I really mean this folks. Look at our HSE LT. Look at the ETC LT. Can this be more of a joke? We have no professionals left. We have no one that has any substantive amount of time in the field. We just have nepotism, DEI and C-Suite best friends that can't do anything else. There used to be a time where the pedigree meant something. Not anymore. As another poster said, just look at our SIFs. Embarrassing!

I can only speak to HES and EMC. It was horrible under the previous regime. It is even worse now under an organization repellent to independent thought.
@rm nailed it. ETC has been a place for leaders to cycle through, so they don't try to really improve it or understand what the business really needs. As a result everyone is left to their own devices to try and serve the business, many do this well, but there are lots of hopeless PowerPoint jockies as well that do Jack sh-t.

I’m in HSE and can vouch for this. In the first round in STAC, I watched several people who outright refused to do field work on a rotational schedule get promoted. Meanwhile, those that did accept are outright told we have a long road to go to move up and will not see promotions for at least 2 years. It is punishment for doing the actual work in this department. To that end, I can’t remember the last time HsE leadership at any level provided any direction other than “be safe.” For blue badge field staff, it had been largely “figure it out.” I no longer update my boss because my boss will take (and has previously taken) my success and write their PMP to take credit.
Not one original thought amongst them. Yes people. However, as soon as someone develops or expresses an original thought that catches a leader’s attention, they will be the first ones to jump on the bandwagon…as well as push the originators off the wagon.
You are aware you are preaching to the choir bro. Tell us something we don't already know. The only team worst than HSE in Chevron is HR. Personnel that can't do anything else so they put them in HSE, ETC or HR. Wait, aren't those all 3 DEI positions. I think so.
