Incoming new hire here. What’s the current culture at Citi within HCOL offices in the US? Specifically NYC/Boston offices? Is the whole bora bora project (mass layoff) still going on?

Yeah the office is just like the sandbox, gotta fit in or you will be forced to eat the white doo doo
From a people standpoint, it seems very cliquey in 388. There’s a lot of social gatherings but if you find you don’t fit in it can be difficult have visibility within the broader organization. Beneath the layer of all of that I feel there is some ugliness hidden. Lastly, I find there’s a lot of dubious guidance when it comes to more administrative stuff especially when it comes to clearing trades or how courses get assigned to waste a half hour of your time on something that has nothing to do with your role.
hey disgruntled boomer, are you in new castle or buffaloe?
I take it you’re a director from JPM or BOA because poorly informed SVP/VP would take a Job here. Toxic he-l-hole. I’m retiring in 6 months if I don’t get RIF’d first. Can’t speak to NY or Boston but having lived in both there’s an extra layer of misery (weather/people) you have to but up with.
Yes, still about half of the projected 20k layoffs to go through 2026. Welcome to he!!.
