Today I am working in one of the Connections spaces where people from various teams come to work. This guy is sitting here coughing loudly and blowing his nose constantly at his desk. It’s hard to believe that someone could be this oblivious to how they affect others. This is not an area assigned to any one team so it’s not like someone is looking over his shoulder. Except me, with a withering stare that implies “GTFO”!!!

The problem might be with how his group is enforcing RTO. In some groups people are required to use PTO, which very few people want do, especially if well enough to get work done.
That being said, where I live, the flu, RSV, strep, and Covid, are running rampant. Someone I know was saying in her granddaughter's class, more than half the class was out sick. Prompt care wait times are averaging between 2-3 hours, and waiting rooms are so full that they are having people wait in their cars.
People are pi---d about RTO so they act subversively when they are forced into the office. They think taking it out on the people around them, in the same boat, is going to stick it to Charlie!
I’ve seen posts on here about what people do to the restroom stalls, coughing, taking calls on speaker, listening to training without headphones - and witnessed just about all of it myself.
I don’t understand how people will let their grievance against someone who will probably never even know them lead them to such unacceptably social behavior directly attributed to THEM but here we are.
The kicker would be if his significant other was WFH and kicked him to the office to get some peace.
Could be low on PTO, has to work in office, etc. It partly the policy of not being able to WFH when sick.
yet if u cough or sneeze on someone in public knowing you are sick it’s considered as----t legally…

Can you go into a private conference room for the day? I here no one is in the office these days.
I would ask my manager if I can WFH the rest of the day because that a-ho-e is too selfish to stay home. You have the right to protect your health. Good luck!
