Layoffs have been a constant here for 5 years. The leadership usually spreads the blame and responsibility on everything and everyone, instead of accepting that layoffs after layoffs are largely the result of their own bad moves.
Can't they stop this decline in any way, which is accelerated even more with constant cuts?

It's not really a decline, we are just becoming a smaller business that is only focused on Wireless and Fiber. With tools, automation and increase market competition, less folks are needed to work. Businesses have to right size or get left behind.
For some people, growing their skill set doesn't matter. They rather live in the past as time past them by. They keep saying, "... it used to be..." and they have no clue why their life goes nowhere.
I don't need to grow my skill set. I can climb a telephone pole. I'm invaluable.
Some of us are actually productive and have grown our skill set to become better.
Sure, and the only reason you're doing that is because you're afraid of being laid off, so you keep your skill set current to make yourself more marketable when your time comes.
Certainly, you're not doing it for the good of the company and it doesn't matter.

T has been laying people off since 1985 as it started when Judge Greene decided to break up T into 7 baby bells also known as regional bell operating companies because it was a monopoly. Since that time, has been laying off every single year consistently! So, it's not just the last 5 years!
5 years? Try forever.
Thanks for your comments Mr. Stanky!
Stankey is turning the company around. There is growth in fiber and mobility. Still need to rid the company of the malcontents and underperformers. Make AT&T great again.
5 years?
Try 25.
Layoffs are good because you don't want workers around doing nothing. They can always hire if they need more workers to do the work. It's called business.
