Been on hold 90 minutes waiting on NESC to answer. I'm locked out of getting my 401K out of Ford, and my retirement hasn't even been processed yet. This is not the way to treat employees. So frustrating. There, I'm done. They need to be sued, but that's not going to happen.

I called NESC today and the automated operator said the wait time was between 84 minutes and 120 minutes...
Such a frustrating experience...
NESC is a joke.
If you're with DFCU and plan to transfer to an IRA make sure you use the address in Dearborn and not your local branch. I just found out the local branch cannot process the IRA checks and will be sending it to the office in Dearborn.....more delays. UGH.
To the original poster: upon notifying your management you were retiring, did they express intent to backfill your position? Just curious
I retired November 30 after requesting paperwork late September and filing it October 24. Have had nothing but good experience with NESC on that. I am not expecting lump sum or anything until Jan-February which is fine to me. I’ve had a few calls in on health care HSA-FSA and one or two calls were a bit difficult to understand but I got thru it. I have been busy spending down my HSA-FSA as I was told your FSA funds do not roll over when you terminate employment. And since my deductible was met, I faxed the form in to classify the FSA into general purpose HSA to enable spend down on non-vision and non - dental costs.
This is all on the employee to learn and educate oneself and be aware of deadlines. In early October , Thomas at NESC said they were getting 12 calls per minute. So it’s up to the employee to have had to made the retirement decision as soon as possible once the interest rates came out September 21.
Ford's long list lawsuit goes all the way to the moon already
To the original poster, when did you file for paperwork?
OMG NESC sucks so bad it’s not even funny. Just try and get a native English speaker that doesn’t address you by your first name as in, OK Mr Steve please hold.
Phoebe Wall Howard needs to write about the mess Ford is making for its retirees. Does anyone know how to reach her?
My lump sum payout just got approved after trying since the August SIRP. I won't see it until January now. Website never had options I was supposed to have and no one could figure it out so it was a manual process. My 401K transfer also got messed up costing me money because they didn't do it on the day they were supposed to. Good luck.
