Doubt there will be transparency with the outcome of the Talent Migration program

(...)The better question is, will anyone be able to find and get accepted for any internal jobs posted? I'm sure people will find them, and possibly get interviewed for, but will you actually get hired?
My guess, 5% or less of the impacted employees will apply for internal roles, mainly because the open roles are demotions compared to the roles they're currently in. Probably 20% or less of the impacted employees will even look at the open req's. Of those that apply, 1 in 20 will get an interview, probably for form's sake to check the box that they "tried" to hire internally if audited, and maybe 1 in 100 positions out of the 3K reqs open will get filled with someone internally, if that.
I'd love for the ELT to be "transparent" and tell us how many impacted people's jobs they were able to save by transferring them into a new req via the Talent Migration program.

This is something that interests me too. My guess would be pretty similar to OP's. And will there be transparency? I doubt it.

If I had open reqs and could hire internally I would without a doubt strongly consider those candidates. If they check out and have some good internal references then why not? They know how to navigate Cisco already! If I think their work ethic and drive is high but they don’t necessarily have an exact skills match then heck yes I would hire them. Skill shortfalls can be addressed with training and mentorship. One’s personality, grit, determination, work ethic, intuition, communication skills and other soft skills are much harder to change if you don’t already have it.

1416 worldwide at least according to the public site

575 in the USA - most likely to be hit the hardest.

Not even close to 3000 openings to fill and not in the regions mostly affected.

How many openings with the same skill set as the impacted engineers? Are the hiring departments willing to give the impacted engineer a chance to learn the missing skills?

“The talent migration “ failed because of those factors and they put the blames on the employees! I don’t expect those factors change in 2023. So I don’t believe the 3000 openings available for the impacted ones, even if you are willing to interview for 2 grades lower. ( yes, one of the managers suggested that to me without mentioning about the paycut for that move.)

This internal hiring or what they call "talent migration" is a scam. You won't be able to move unless you are Indian.

I wouldn’t believe any numbers they provide anyway. I’m a people leader, and I know for a fact that hiring managers are not following the directive from ELT to be more considerate and open to internal candidates. 2 of my people applied for open roles and didn’t even get an interview, feedback was that hiring manager was only looking for “xyz”. The whole thing is a farce to make people feel better and to quell the the uprising up until the 12th.

Of course not. Cisco is all about virtue signaling but doing NOTHING.
